The Wood made of Wood
In this project, I aim to use wood as an example to explore the different forms of the same material. Wood can be reduced to ashes, transforming into carbon powder, while paper is an industrially processed form of wood. These represent two distinct dimensions of wood's existence.
In the material experiment, I begin by folding pieces of paper to mimic the texture of wood. Next, I burn wood into toner and mix it with resin. This mixture is then fed into a grinding tool. After the material solidifies, the surface is polished and refined. Ultimately, we obtain a piece of wood made from wood, demonstrating the various forms and dimensions of the same material.
