The Bag
This is a small handbag produced by Laser Fiber 3D Printing technology. Its design is generated by a parametric system that simulates the growth patterns of slime molds. I combined this algorithm with the classic shape of a handbag, resulting in this uniquely shaped mini bag.
The fibers used to print it are recycled from discarded wool yarns and fabrics collected in the Textile studio in the RCA. These diverse colored fibers are randomly blended, unexpectedly forming this charming surface texture and the cute dot pattern.
